Jata Shanker Tripathi, inspired by the thinking of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay has devoted his life to social activism. The teachings of Pandit Deendayal Ji and Swami Vivekanand along with the spiritual aura of his hometown, Gorakhpur instilled a deep sense of nationalism in him. A strong desire to propel the nation towards glory encouraged him to become a social activist. He understood at a very young age that the country will not prosper until the weakest and the poorest are strengthened and enriched. This nationalistic fervor and the urge to do good for the society put him on the path of social and political activism.

Right from his youth days, he has been involved in various social causes like protecting innocent girls and women from human trafficking. Sri Jata Shanker Tripathi is also involved with various social organizations that are working diligently towards alleviating property and ensuring food security for the impoverished. Sri Tripathi firmly believes that charity can never be the only solution to poverty eradication. He understands that a “Sashakt Bharat” can be built only by “Sashakt Bharatiya”. This is why he supports micro-finance initiatives to help worthy individuals sustain themselves and instead of job seekers become job generators. Jata Shanker Tripathi played a stellar role in bringing AIIMS to Gorakhpur which prompted people to lovingly address him as “AIIMS vale baba”.

He is also an educationist who takes care of the education of more than 500 students in his area. Sri Tripathi’s entry into politics was inspired by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi’s call to eliminate the scourge of corruption. Another major reason that prompted Jata Shanker Tripathi to enter politics was
to become an enabler for the social causes that he believes in. At present, he is the MLA of the Khadda 329 constituency in the Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
